Where to Eat this Oct: Finally, Terrace Weather in Shanghai!

The weather has finally cooled down - and wait, it's already mid-October? ? Gosh… The cool season in Shanghai is so precious, and we really need to make the most of it. This is the best time of year to sit outside, feel the breeze, and enjoy those long-missed terraces across the city.

If you've lived in Shanghai long enough, chances are someone has asked you this: “Where's the best restaurant with a view of the Bund and the skyline?”

There are plenty of options, of course, depending on your budget, your mood, and what kind of cuisine you're after.

But if you're looking for a perfect indoor-outdoor space, a truly chill vibe, and Italian cuisine - there's one spot that ticks all the boxes: Fellas Terrace.

Their view is the killer factor. Sitting on the south side of the Bund, it gives you the best of both worlds - the river on one side and the Pudong skyline on the other. The restaurant's design makes full use of that view: no concrete walls, just glass windows that slide open on good-weather days, letting in the breeze as you eat.

The vibe? Super relaxed, dimly lit (actually too dim - we could barely see our dishes), with soft yellow table lights that don't do much but somehow add to the mood. There's also a full bar menu, high stools facing the skyline, and cozy corner sofas if you prefer something quieter. Most seats come with great views.

Now, about the food. We're putting it last because, honestly, the atmosphere and the view are more impressive than the menu. They serve traditional Italian - nothing that will surprise you, but decent enough. Think classic pasta, pizza, and the usual appetizers. Everything we tried was decent, though not mind-blowing.

Pricing is fair considering the location and view: main courses run ¥200-400 (excluding premium steaks); pasta and pizza are around ¥100-180; appetizers just above ¥100

Overall, we'd give the food a 7 out of 10, but the whole experience - the view and the ambience - easily brings it higher.
